Poor Neil !!! But once his gum has healed he will feel much better.... a bad tooth can poison your whole system...

Your diet sounds interesting....do tell all !!! It reminds me of an article I read recently about leptin........I'll see if I can find it for you....one of the things it recommended was having an extra calorie day every 2 or 3 days to boost leptin levels... And it isnt a silly time to start...quite the opposite....gives you a head start on the Post Christmas bulge !!! LOL......You have to make space for Turkey / Christmas pud and mince pies... Very Happy.......extra weight just sneaks up on you....Im sure mine came overnight !!!
ce
I watched the Remembrance service too....and like yourself shed tears..... I looked at the Chelsea pensioners....so frail yet still so courageous......when you think of what they have been through ......the horrors they have seen and experienced personally......and the bravery with which they still face every day.... I watched the fresh faced youngsters for whom these horrors are their future unless the powers that be make some radical changes... There was amazing courage, pride, fortitude on every face..... how could you not shed tears when you know these sacrifices were made for you....so that you could live a peaceful life, free from tyranny......it gets me every year !!!

BTW...what are you stitching ????

GOOD MORNING............................. Very Happy

Im back in the land of the living, been busy busy all week cleaning & all the other boring jobs that need doing ready for winter.
Yesterday we had the guy out to swap the burners around, brought the green one from the cottage for up here, its a better fire and put the black one in the cottage.

Good to see some good news re you & ron, its a slow process but remember he had major major surgery so will take time.

How many enquiries have you had curly for your B&B? Lol It`ll all come together, you just watch. January is when people start thinking about their hols so you could have a flurry of enquiries. Im thinking of going with " holiday lettings", heard some good things about them. You pay a pound for the first 60 days trial, might give it a go.

Off to have a catch up on the quizzes with my cuppa. bounce

Morning all

Another foggy day, it seems very cold so l lit my little greenhouse heater.

All the cows and horses (my neighbours) have left now, there is just a field down the lane that has cows still Sad

Had a clear out of paper work the other day and l think l burnt my x stitch pattern affraid , thankfully l was able to download another one which enabled me to finish it last night, how stupid of me Laughing

Hope everybody is OK.

You were lucky to replace your pattern..... I was making a beautiful crochet christening gown and lost my pattern when I only had the last sleeve to do...How frustrating that was !!!!

Very cold here with heavy frosts over the last week......

Havent got over summer Jamdan ???? Im still waiting for it to arrive !!! Looks like we have been missed out this year !!!

Its interesting that over the last few days the birds have started coming back into the garden to feed.... Poor creatures - I think they are in for a hard time this winter.... all the berries are gone already so they will be very dependent on what is provided....

I found the diet site very interesting......spent ages following up one thing and another..... Have you investigated "Catabolic foods " ? These are foods that take more calories to digest than they contain.... Im sure we can use that natty piece of information Very Happy

Morning girls,...................;;the suns shining but a bit chilly so Im gonna do some tidying up in the garden . I havent finished the attic yet so will go up there again this afternoon. I sorted loads of brand new clothes that Ive never worn cos Im too FAT for them now so put them all in the charity bin thing at the dechetterie. Oh and the chocolate fountain that my son bought me and we`ve only used once, thats gone to the charity shop along with 2 slow cookers, the amount of chocolate you need to get it working properly is ridiculous.

The most depressing attic find was a photo album from 30 years ago when I first met mark and I was a size ten. I was even wearing make up & everything lol! gawd that put me on a downer. I dont even know where my make up bag is nowadays.

Have a good day ladies....................

Deep cold forecast here and guess what - more rain !!!! Apparently this has been the wettest summer for 100 years.... We had heavy frost again last night and it didnt clear all day....just laying on the ground like snow !!! BRRRR !!! Im perished !!!

Good news... Ron has been taken off Warfarin !!! The hospital say they cant do anything about his infection but that it shouldnt cause any problems (fingers crossed!!! ) .....so leaving it for 2 or 3 months to see if it will burn itself out...

We shall see !!!

Morning all

Really blustery here during the night, loads of things have gone flying about the garden, even the door mat.

How is the weather with you today Edwina, has it passed?

So, pleased to read that Ron is off the Warfarin now, maybe he will start to feel a whole lot better.

What about you, has the whooping cough gone now?

It has been very windy here....tipping it down with rain and hard frosts nightly.....I havent been warm all day !!!
Ron is improving , but I think he is nervous when he sees his medication reducing LOL....I make up a weekly box for him but he has started to question whether Ive made a mistake because there are not so many tablets to take Very Happy
I still have whooping cough but I think Im on the mend... The bouts of coughing are not as frequent.....and Im having a chest xray tomorrow because my chest is still crackling...
Apart from that we are both fine Very Happy Thank you !!

Morning all

Wet and windy here, thank goodness for the rayburn which stays in over night so keeping the place nice and cosy.

Hope you get better soon, seems there is a lot of whooping cough here also.

Isn't it great to hear that Kate is pregnant, pity she is suffering though, poor young thing.

You didnt get all the snow m'dearie .... We have had four inches of the stuff too.....all on top of existing ice !!! Lovely !!! Ron had an appointment at Cardiac rehab yesterday.....we did set out but turned round and went back home.... There are sensible limits that you shouldnt exceed IMHO !!!
The roads are now covered in thick ice where cars have compacted the snow.....Main roads have been salted but not side roads.....so the difficulty is actually reaching a salted main road...

Kate is fortunate to receive such good treatment ....Thankfully times move on ! When I was expecting Clive I was overwhelmed by sickness every time I moved....The doctor prescribed Thalidomide but thankfully it made me even worse so I stopped taking it.....after that though I was told to just get on with it....that it would stop in time ! Like I said thankfully times move on !!! Let's just hope that Kate never gets treated like Diana....

I am filled with jealousy over your Rayburn ....I would love a woodburner stove or even a common or garden fireplace....but alas it cannot be ! Houses here are now built with no fireplaces or chimneys....open fires are prohibited by the clean air act....central heating keeps you warm but it isnt cosy or comforting
Im grateful for the warmth though so I shall just have to put up with it Laughing Laughing Laughing

I shall just take vicarious pleasure in yours / Liz's / Moya's Very Happy

Oh boy ! Is it cold here - Minus 6 this morning !!!!

Its been busy here... My lovely but slightly nutty grandson moved in next door on Saturday Very Happy Then on Sunday - in spite of having virtually no sleep - he did the Santa charity run..... Everybody taking part was dressed up as Santa......Just imagine hundreds of Santas running 6k along the promenade and round the city !!!
Tuesday Ron went to cardiac rehab....needless to say I got dragged along too !!! It all looked very simple but imagine staying in constant movement for over an hour....I was knackered !!!!
I shouldnt really have gone as I had a temperature of 100.6 but Ron wont do anything on his own..... I paid the price for it later on though.....I cant remember when I have felt so ill.... so they have been living on take away / ready meals since Tuesday.... I just cant shake it off.....might be the winter vomiting bug but I was shaking with rigors too...
I have been trying to buy a 6.5 slow cooker for Paul.... might as well be looking for moon rock.... I can find smaller ones but they wont do.....he has a couple of friends sharing the rental and they also share meals so it needs to be the bigger one... So trying another couple of options today
Wish me luck !!!
